United Way conducts survey

The United Way is conducting a community assessment survey with forms available on the Columbia County Web site at www. columbiacountyga.gov. For information, call (706) 724-5544, extension 131.

Tree lighting, Evans parade

The Christmas in America Festival, the lighting of the official Columbia County Christmas tree, will be held from 3-7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Columbia County amphitheater in Evans, followed by the 45th Annual Martinez-Evans Christmas Parade at 2 p.m. Dec. 6.

Senior seminars

Washington Commons, off Washington Road in Evans, is holding a "Let's Talk Seniors" series of presentations during November, with a program on help for adults with aging parents at 10 a.m. Monday. For information, call (706) 860-0402.

Thanksgiving dinner
