United Way survey

The United Way is conducting a community assessment survey through Nov. 29. Survey forms are available on the Columbia County Web site at www.columbiacountyga.gov, or on the United Way site at www.uwcsra.org. For information, call (706) 724-5544, extension 131.

Parade entries

Friday is the deadline for entries in the 45th Annual Martinez-Evans Christmas Parade, to be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 6. For applications, go to www.columbiacountyfair.net.

Reed Creek events

Reed Creek Park will hold a program called A Beginner's Guide to Climate Change from 5-6 p.m. today. For information, call (706) 210-4027.

Senior seminars

Washington Commons, off Washington Road in Evans, is holding a Let's Talk Seniors series of educational presentations during November, with living wills at 10 a.m. Monday, and help for adults with aging parents, 10 a.m. Nov. 30. For information, call (706) 860-0402.

Women's lunch

The Augusta Christian Women's Connection will hold a patriotic luncheon at 11 a.m. today at the Augusta Jewish Community Center in Evans. Babs Hawks from Woodstock, Ga., will be the speaker, and the U.S. Army Signal Corps Brass Quintet will perform. Cost is $12, with nursery provided. For information, call (706) 925-5316.

Newcomers

The Augusta Newcomers will hold a luncheon meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday at West Lake Country Club, with a speaker from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office providing information about crime and safety during the holidays. Park pioneers
