United Way survey

The United Way is conducting a community assessment survey through Nov. 29. Survey forms are available on the Columbia County Web site at www.columbiacountyga.gov, or on the United Way site at www.uwcsra.org. Call (706) 724-5544, extension 131.

Parade entries

Nov. 20 is the deadline for entries in the 45th Annual Martinez-Evans Christmas Parade, to be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 6. Go to www.columbiacountyfair.net.

Veterans event

The city of Grovetown will hold a Veterans Day memorial ceremony at 10:15 a.m. today at the Memorial Wall. Call (706) 863-1867.

Gardening at Lunch

The Columbia County Extension Service Gardening at Lunch series continues at noon today with a program on winter-blooming plants. Call (706) 868-3413.

Alzheimer's talk

The Augusta Alzheimer's Association's "Docs and Dessert" will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Elmcroft Assisted Living on The Pass at Furys Ferry Road, featuring Dr. Suzanne Smith, director of the MCG Memory Disorder Clinic. The event is free. Reservations are due today by calling (706) 731-9060.

Fruit sales
