Ministry Day

Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church, 703 Furys Ferry Road, Evans, will hold its third annual Ministries Day at 10:45 a.m. today, with James T. Russ, associate pastor at Gardener Grove Baptist Church, Augusta. Vendor spaces also are available for the church's community health fair, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Arts meeting

Mammograms

University Hospital's Mobile Mammography unit will provide mammograms at Retreat Spa, 4246 Washington Road, Evans, on Monday, and at Columbia County EMS on Ronald Reagan Drive on Wednesday. Appointments are required. Call (706) 774-4149.

Writers group

Fair pageant

Tuesday is the entry deadline for contestants in the Miss Columbia County Fair Scholarship Pageant, for women ages 17-24, to be held at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Greenbrier High School Auditorium. Park programs

Reed Creek Park will hold a forest foray from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and a program on birds from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The programs are for ages 5 and older, and children must be accompanied by an adult. All are free to park members, and $2 per child for nonmembers.
