Greenbrier 7, Luella 2

Kendrick Wilson's 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was all the scoring Greenbrier would need to beat Douglass in its Region 3-AAAAA opener on Friday.

The defensive struggle resulted in 82 yards of offense for Greenbrier and 101 for Douglass. Greenbrier improved to 2-2, 1-0 in region play.

Wolfpack QB Scott Reeder was 6 of 16 passing for 72 yards, including a 37-yard completion to receiver Ricky Wiebe.

Grovetown 37, Pacelli Catholic 7

Seth Hill rushed for 169 yards and scored on a 60-yard TD run as Grovetown improved to 4-2 with the victory.

Warriors quarterback Xavier Crain passed for 94 yards and two TDs, both to Tae Miller, who had three catches for 74 yards.

Miller scored on passes of 16 and 15 yards and returned a fumble 27 yards for another score.

Ben Lippen 42, Aug. Christian 20

Ben Lippen scored 14 unanswered points in the first quarter and went on to stop Augusta Christian in the Lions' Region 1-AAA opener.

Christian Croft, Tyler Roberson and Cole Turner scored Augusta Christian's touchdowns, all on the ground. Croft carried 11 times for 63 yards.
