Wesley United Methodist Church and all area Pizza Joint restaurants are teaming up to collect "flood buckets" filled with cleaning supplies for Atlanta-area residents whose homes were damaged in recent floods. Bowl-a-thon

Yard sale

When HELP Can't Wait, a charity providing assistance to seniors in nursing homes, will hold a fundraising yard sale from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at its office, 3822 Commercial Court, across from the Martinez Post Office. Call (706) 729-8991.

Fair pageant

Oct. 20 is the entry deadline for contestants in the Miss Columbia County Fair Scholarship Pageant, for women ages 17-24, to be held at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Greenbrier High School Auditorium.
