Objections to president are a result of his 'Orwellian' methods

Re the recent News-Times editorial ("Recall that 'respect the president' thing?" Sept. 6 ):

It's not that conservatives don't respect the office of the president. We choked on this type of respect during President Clinton's affairs.

What independent-minded Americans mind is the Orwellian way in which Barack Obama goes about governing. He wants to be the all-pervasive leader: The "Great Father" or "Chairman" or "Uncle Ho" (from Vietnam days), involved in every aspect of our lives. Providing his views on education is only one of his intrusive avenues.

I encourage your readers to go back and peruse both Animal Farm and 1984. If they really want to see what Obama is about, refer to Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals or Chairman Mao's little red book of the 1960s. Alinsky's writings were taught by ACORN community organizer Obama at the University of Chicago. He and his people are following this radical's guidance to the letter.

(As an aside, 25 years ago I answered an ACORN help wanted ad in Atlanta. ACORN and I jointly decided there wasn't a match).
