YMCA registration

The Marshall Family Y is holding registration for flag football and cheerleading through Tuesday. The programs are open to boys and girls ages 5-14. Cost is $55 for YMCA members and $75 for nonmembers. Participants can register online at www.thefamilyy.org or at Marshall Family Y in Evans. For information, call Justin Goolsby at (706) 922-9658.

Golf tournaments

Lakeside High School baseball team will play host to a golf tournament at noon Sept. 19 at Jones Creek. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. Cost is $100 per person or $400 per team. For information, e-mail T.J. Davis at thomas.davis@ccboe.net or check www.lhspanthers.com for details.

Gospel Water Branch Community Development Inc. will hold its second annual golf outing Sept. 18 at Jones Creek Golf Club. Cost is $50 per person and includes cart, greens fee, lunch and awards. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta will hold its annual Golf Ball and Tournament starting Sunday. The ball will be held Sunday from 6-9 p.m. at the Marriott hotel in downtown Augusta. Rowing Club

The Augusta Junior Rowing Team is accepting members. No experience is necessary and potential members can participate for two weeks before deciding whether to join. Practices are held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4-6:30 p.m. at The Boathouse on Riverfront Drive in Augusta. The team is open to ages 13-18. Travel baseball

The Columbia County Bullets 13-and-under travel baseball team is looking for two players for the upcoming season. Players must not turn 14 before May 1. For information, call Brad Thompson at (706) 533-1061.

The Georgia Lightning 11-and-under travel baseball team is looking for baseball players and parents for the upcoming season. Players must not turn 12 before May 1. For information, call Billy Kelley at (706) 825-9898.

Softball tryout

The Georgia Rockers Fast Pitch Organization will hold tryouts for its 14-and-under and 16-and-under travel team for the upcoming season. The tryouts will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Patriots Park. For information, call Ike Branch at (706) 373-9581 or (706) 860-3886.

Coast Guard Auxiliary meets
