Playground and fountain were big hit with visiting grandchildren

My grandchildren, ages 2 and 5, recently visited us for 12 days and I thought I would have trouble keeping them entertained.

We did lots of things in the area, but their favorite was the children's fountain and playground behind the Columbia County Library.

Never having the need to use this area before, I was surprised how much fun they and I had. It was safe, enjoyable and convenient.

Lots of young families with children were there. Many groups brought picnics, snacks and made a morning adventure of the fountain.

Columbia County is very lucky to have such a nice play area and I'd like to thank commissioners Ron Cross and Ron Thigpen (and another commissioner who I can't remember) for making personal donations to supplement the county funds used for the building of the fountain.
