Meeting will tell public about Route 47 project

From Staff Reports

The Georgia Department of Transportation will hold a public information session Thursday in Appling concerning plans for widening State Route 47 at the Keg Creek Bridge.

The meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Damascus Baptist Church, 6375 Ridge Road, according to the DOT district office in Tennille, Ga.

Though no formal presentations will be made at the session, members of the public will be able to ask questions and make comments regarding the project, which includes the addition of a passing lane near Wildwood Park.

After the meeting, handouts on the project will be available online at www.dot.ga.gov, under Public Involvement in the General Public tab.
