For those craving cuisine with an Asian flair, a new Evans restaurant has just the menu.

Angel Island Asian Cuisine opened July 1 next to Food Lion in the shopping center at North Belair and Washington roads.
Restaurant owners Xiang Mei Li and Ping Yi Deng own several restaurants in Columbia, said restaurant manager Ian Brower.
"They are just really specializing in a broad spectrum of different kinds of Asian cuisine," Brower said. "We've got a very well-stocked sushi bar, 12 seats at our sushi bar. And we have true sushi chefs."
The menu includes Sichuan, Mongolian and Chinese cuisine, including chicken, beef, pork, seafood, fried rice, noodles, vegetable and diet entrees, and a large selection of sushi and sashimi. A full bar is available.
"A lot of people that have come in are like, 'Wow, this is real Chinese,' " said Brower, who owned the former Upper Crust restaurant in Evans. "It is not like anything else here in town. It is very upscale."
The restaurant will hold its grand opening and Columbia County Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony today.
Brower said the restaurant uses only top-quality meats and seafood, and the produce is fresh daily.
The restaurant offers lunch versions of most menu items.
"Lunchtime, it is a very quick lunch," Brower said. "Our turnaround time on lunch is about 10 minutes, so you can come on a lunch break. In the evening, we're trying to offer a little more upscale dining experience."
Dine-in and takeout are available.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday. For information, call (706) 868-9666 or visit www.angelislandga.com.
