SRNS scholarships

Two Columbia County graduates are among 15 students who have each won a $3,000 Savannah River Nuclear Solutions Family Scholarship. All recipients are sons or daughters of SRNS employees.

Columbia County recipients are Gregory Brooks , of Evans High School, the son of Gregory Brooks, who works in Environment, Safety, Health and Quality; and Raam Venkatesh , of Lakeside High School, son of Meena Venkatesh, who works in the Savannah River National Laboratory.

NGCSU grads

The following students received degrees in spring commencement ceremonies from North Georgia College and State University: Joseph Harris of Augusta, bachelor of marketing; Amanda Angleton of Grovetown, bachelor of music; Bethany Dieterich of Martinez, bachelor of special education; and Leonard Manning of Martinez, bachelor of mathematics.

NGCSU spring President's List

The following students were named to the spring 2009 President's List at North Georgia College and State University: Bethany Dieterich, Anthony Arca and Neil Howerton, all of Martinez.

NGCSU spring Dean's List

Cameron Ballard of Evans and Erika De La Cruz of Grovetown were named to the spring Dean's List at North Georgia College and State University.

Georgia Tech scholarships

Joshua A. Mysona, of Evans, a graduate of Aquinas High School, received a National Merit Scholarship to attend Georgia Institute of Technology.

Zachary M. Dromsky of Martinez, a graduate of Lakeside High School, received a National Merit scholarship to attend Georgia Institute of Technology.

GSU scholarship

Diandre Ussery , a public relations major and daughter of Floyd and Venessa Ussery, was awarded the communication arts Susan Bacon MacLachlan Scholarship Award at Georgia Southern University for the 2009-10 academic year. She has also received a Black Scholar Award and the North Star Scholarship from Urban League Academics. She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and the International Golden Key National Honor Society.

Troy University Chancellor's List

Kevin Wiman of Martinez has been named to the Chancellor's List at Troy University for the spring semester.
