Army Pvt. Nathallie E. Johnson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. She is the daughter of Capt. Christopher Johnson, of Thomson, and a 2008 graduate of Thomson High School.

Army Pfc. Nejay C. Sormalah has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. She is the daughter of Sherl Uzuriaga, of Harlem, and a 2008 graduate of Harlem High School.

Navy Seaman Nathan R. Ducharme , son of Marcia K. and Clark D. Ducharme, of Evans, recently completed basic training at Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Ducharme is a 2001 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class James C. Word has graduated from the Air Traffic Control Operations Apprentice Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss. He is the son of Carol A. Palmer, of Harlem, and is a 2008 graduate of Harlem High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Brendan A. Gray has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Lori Miller, of Grovetown, and a 2007 graduate of Harlem High School.

Army Pvt. Christopher M. Bailey has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the grandson of Kate Holzendof, of Thomson, and a 2000 graduate of Thomson High School.

Army Pfc. James D. Lifsey has graduated from Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consists of Basic Infantry Training and Advanced Individual Training. Lifsey is the son of John Lifsey and stepson of Shahnaz Dowydar, of Martinez, and a 2008 graduate of Lakeside High School.

Army Pvt. Tia D. Johnson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, where she earned distinction as an honor graduate. She is the daughter of Sandra Johnson, of Martinez, and Lawrence Johnson, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and a 2004 graduate of Evans High School.

Air Force Airman Teri A. Oliveri graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. She is the daughter of Daniel and Donna Oliveri, of Grovetown. Oliveri is a 2007 graduate of Harlem High School.

Army Pvt. Gerald Spauling has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. He is the son of Emzie Evan, of Martinez, and a 2008 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

Army Pvt. Joshua J. Thomas has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Thomas earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course. He is the son of Thomas N. Thomas, of Harlem, and a 2007 graduate of Harlem High School.
