- The inaugural Grovetown High School Warrior Golf Classic will be Saturday at Bartram Trail Golf Course. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Cost is $75 per person or $300 per team, with proceeds benefitting the Grovetown High School Athletic Booster Foundation. Contact Todd Booker at (706) 910-9644.

- The second Larry Bray Memorial Golf Tournament will be Sunday at West Lake Country Club. A reception for participants will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Visit www.ldbmemorial.com or call Don Bray at (706) 833-8485.

Softball tourney

The USSSA Southeast Military Softball Program will hold the regional championship Saturday and Sunday at Sweetwater in Thomson. The tournament features men's Varsity A, B, Intramural, and Women's Varsity Softball. Entry fee is $245, includes a three-game guarantee, balls, and a paid berth to the world qualifier. Team registration is open through June 18. All military, retiree, Department of Defense, dependents and military contractors are eligible to participate.

Harlem High seeks football players

Students zoned to attend Harlem High School in the fall who want to play football are asked to call coach Jimmie Lewis at (706) 564-4712 for summer workout information.

Grovetown High football combine

The Southeastern Coaches Combine will be held July 27 at Grovetown High School. Players in eighth through 12th grades zoned for Grovetown High School are welcome to attend. Cost is $15 and due the day of the combine. Register at www.coachescombine.com. Information is also available on Grovetown High School's Web site.
