Lacrosse clinics

- Lakeside High School is holding free beginner's lacrosse clinics at the track field behind the school Monday-Wednesday and June 15-17 from 6-8 p.m. each day. The clinics are open to boys and girls grades 7 through high school who are new to the sport. For information, contact Ron Ritter at ron.ritter@trinity ofaugusta.com.

- Summer Lax 2009 will start Saturday and last until July 28 at Patriots Park. Boys will play Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Girls will play Saturdays from 10-11 a.m. Cost for boys is $75. Cost for girls is $60. Fee includes U.S. Lacrosse Membership (insurance), magazine subscription and a game penny. The event is open to boys and girls entering eighth grade through high school. Tennis and swimming camp

Petersburg Racquet Club summer camp sessions will run Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. until noon, with swimming offered at the end of each workout. Clinics are open to ages 7-18, from beginner to intermediate levels. Swim camp

Lakeside High School will hold a swim camp Monday at West Lake pool. The camp is open to ages 10-17. Cost is $75 and includes lunch both days. For information, call (706) 364-9811.

Cheer camps

Greenbrier High School will hold its annual cheer camp Monday to June 19 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., for pre-K through 8th grade. The camp includes a T-shirt, daily snacks and drinks and the opportunity to cheer at a high school football game this fall. There is also a Parent Pep Rally on the last day. Cost is $75. The Evans High School varsity cheerleading team will hold cheerleading camp for girls pre-K through fifth grade July 6-10 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day. Day camp

The Columbia County Recreation Department is registering for its summer day camp. The camp will be held until July 31, except for the week of June 29 to July 3, and will go from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Early drop off starts at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up at 6 p.m. The camp is open to ages 6-12 and will be held at the Bobby Waters Gymnasium Complex at Patriots Park. Cost is $95 per week. Baseball camps

Evans High School will hold its annual youth baseball camp June 15-19. Cost is $100. The camp runs from 9 a.m. until noon each day. For information, contact coach Ricky Beale at (706) 863-1198, ext. 4054, or e-mail rbeale@ccboe.net.

Basketball camps

Riverside Middle School will hold a basketball camp for girls in fourth through eighth grades Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Cost is $80. Registration forms are available at the school office or by contacting Stefanie Basinger at stefanie.basinger@ccboe.net.

Lakeside Middle School will hold Sure Shot Basketball Camp during June and July. A camp for boys entering grades 6-9 will be held 1-4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday at Stallings Island Middle. Cost is $80. Camp for boys and girls entering grades 2-5 will be held from 9 a.m. until noon Monday to Friday and July 27-31 at Lakeside Middle. Cost is $75.

The 18th Evans High School Basketball Youth Camp will be held Monday to Friday and June 22-26. The camp runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day. Greenbrier High School will hold a summer basketball camp (open to boys and girls grades 6-8) on July 27-30 at Greenbrier Middle School or Greenbrier High School, depending on the completion of the new gym floor. The Greenbrier coaching staff and varsity players will serve as counselors. Cost is $70. The Dip Metress Basketball Academy will be held June 15-19 and August 3-7. Cost is $160. The camp is open to participants in grades first through 11th and will run 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m. until noon Friday. Volleyball camps

Augusta Prep will hold its seventh-annual summer volleyball camp Monday and Tuesday, and June 22-26. Middle school sessions for grades 5-8 will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. High school sessions for grades 9-12 will be held 1-4 p.m. each day. Cost is $50 for the two-day camp and $120 for the five-day camp. The CSRA Heat Volleyball Club will hold clinics on Sunday afternoons at Augusta Prep for girls third grade through high school. The clinics will run until August 2. Rowing camp

Augusta Junior Rowing Team will hold a "Learn to Row" camp June 22-26, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Boathouse at 101 Riverfront Drive in Augusta. Soccer camps

The GA-SC Bulls Soccer Club will hold three summer camps. Camps are open to boys and girls ages 5 to 17. Camps will be held June 15-17 at Blanchard Woods in Columbia County, July 6-10 in conjunction with the USC-Aiken Ofoje Soccer School in Aiken, and July 26-29 at Hammond's Ferry in North Augusta. Softball camp

Conditioning camp

Summer conditioning workouts will be held at Blanchard Park throughout July and August. The workouts are open to ages 10 and older and are free. The workouts will start July 7 at 6 p.m. and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m., lasting through the end of August.
