Regions Bank at 101 W. Robinson Ave., Grovetown, will hold a cookout and bake sale from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to raise money for a Grovetown family with a father who is fighting cancer. Call (706) 868-2321.

Financial healing

Church of the Holy Comforter, 473 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez, will hold services of Healing in a Time of Economic Distress at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with special emphasis on those tho have experienced job loss, reduction of income or who are anxious about their finances. Help will be available for job-seekers needing assistance with polishing resumes and honing interview skills. Call (706) 210-1133.

Reed Creek events

Reed Creek Park will hold events during June for ages 4-11. A second session of preschool programs for 4 and older will be held 9-11 a.m. June 15-19, with a cost of $60 per child. A free program on insects will be held 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, and a nature club for ages 9-11 will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays starting June 9. For information, call (706) 210-4027.

Wet Wednesdays

Mosaic United Methodist Church, on Columbia Industrial Boulevard, will hold Wet, Wild Wednesdays each Wednesday starting today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for children ages 3 to fifth grade. Supper is provided; children should come prepared to get wet. To register, e-mail hugginlady04@yahoo.com.

Garden series

The Columbia County Extension Service Gardening at Lunch series continues at noon today at the Columbia County Library with a program on gardening for kids, and a separate gardening information day program for adults. Call Extension Agent Charles Phillips at (706) 868-3413.

Youth orchestra

The Columbia County Orchestra Association will begin holding rehearsals for the Columbia County Youth Orchestra, for third-year music students through seniors, starting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Augusta Christian Schools band room on Baston Road, Martinez.
