I loved Lucy Adams' May 6 column in The News-Times about church behavior, "The eternal conundrum of motherhood."
My boys are 4 and 3, and only twice have I taken them into the worship service. Thankfully, we have children's church for them during the transition to "big church."
But I, too, feel what those parents of that little girl felt at restaurants and other public gatherings, even the grocery store, when my kids are riding in the "race car" buggy and screaming like they are really at a race. Or they are banging their forks on the table at a restaurant, or singing.
I am so afraid that others wish we'd just leave.
It's nice to have the other perspective, the one that says, "it's OK, let the kids be kids sometimes for others' enjoyment and nostalgia."
