Essay contest
Friday is the postmark deadline for Heartsong Animal Rescue's Be Kind to Animals Essay Contest in recognition of the American Humane Association's 95th annual Be Kind to Animals Week, May 3-9. The contest is open in two categories - ages 8-12 and 13-17 - for a 100- to 150-word essay. Entry forms and rules are available at The News-Times office, or at www.heartsonganimalrescue.com.
Choral program
