The final round of the Masters Tournament coincides with Easter Sunday.

The Rev. Carolyn Moore hopes that long before the day's golf begins, visitors will join residents at the Community Easter Sunrise Service to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ.

"We're particularly hoping that guests to Augusta ... will find our sunrise service because it is a great opportunity to worship before the course opens," she said.

The third annual sunrise service is organized by Mosaic and First Baptist Church of Evans. It will be held 7 a.m. Sunday at the Columbia County Amphitheater behind the Columbia County Library on Ronald Reagan Drive in Evans.

The entire community is welcome to attend and the dress is casual.

Moore said to bring a blanket and chairs and enjoy watching the sunrise during the service.

"Last year, we could not have painted a better picture," Moore said. "Right as the service began, the sun was coming up just over the horizon. ... It was just beautiful out there."

Moore said the band from her contemporary church and the choir from the more traditional First Baptist will perform during the service.

"We're just going to combine the two and have some great music," Moore said, adding that a band member wrote a song especially for this type of event.

An offering will be collected with proceeds benefiting the Augusta Care Pregnancy Center.

Hot chocolate and coffee will be served before and after the service.
