Party at Pavilion caters to golf fans
For Masters Week, the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce has a golf-themed party designed both for area residents and out-of-town guests.

The second annual Party at the Pavilion will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, 3300 Evans to Locks Road, Martinez.
The event will be held in the Grand Rapids ballroom to avoid any weather issues, said Tammy Shepherd, the chamber's director of programs.
Last year's party, which drew close to 225 guests, was held outside, she said.
"It will not be outside," she said. "However, we will have tours down to the historic buildings, and also the lock-keeper's house, which is now the official visitors center for Columbia County."
The entire park will be rented by the chamber, she added.
Guests can test their golf swing on a raised putting green indoors or by playing golf on Nintendo Wii, Shepherd said.
"We will have interactive games going on where people can putt and try to win little prizes," she said.
The Unmentionables, an area band that plays shag music and Southern rock, will provide the evening's musical entertainment, and a barbecue dinner will be supplied by Mot's Pit Cooked Barbecue. Toast Wine and Beverage will offer a cash bar.
"We would love to show the out-of-town guests the Southern hospitality, as we say, Columbia County-style," Shepherd said. "This will give them just a different experience so they're not necessarily doing the same thing every night."
The event, she said, is targeted at guests in their mid-30s and older.
Tickets cost $25, which includes dinner. Shepherd said only a limited number of tickets will be sold at the door and is encouraging people to purchase them in advance.
