Boating course

Savannah River Sail and Power Squadron will offer a five-part America's Boating Course today, Thursday, April 9 and 16. Hours are 7-9 p.m., and all classes will be held at West Marine, 592 Bobby Jones Expressway. Registration will be at 6 p.m. Thursday. Youth lacrosse

Marshall Family Y will hold lacrosse registration until Monday for boys and girls ages 9-15. The season will start in April. Participants can register at the Marshall Family Y or by visiting www.thefamilyy.org.

Youth soccer

The GA-SC Bulls Soccer Club will hold tryouts for its upcoming season in the U.S. Club Soccer Southeast Regional Summer League. The tryouts will run today to Wednesday, from 6-7:30 p.m., at North Augusta's Hammonds Ferry Soccer Complex. For information, visit www.ga-scbulls.com.

The GA-SC Bulls Soccer Club, along with the Columbia County Recreation Department, will offer a Bulls Junior Soccer Academy for ages 5-7 at Blanchard Woods Park on April 15. Cost is $65 per player. For information and to register, visit www.ga-scbulls.com.

Baseball tryout

The Columbia County Chaos boys 10-and-under travel team will be hold tryouts until today. Interested boys should be 10 or under as of May 1. For information, call Trevor Adkins at (706) 284-7379.

The Sonic Blast 14-and-under Major tournament team is seeking two players with pitching experience (preferably high school or middle school experience) for the spring/summer 2009 season. Softball camp

Greenbrier High School will hold a fastpitch softball clinic June 2-5. Cost is $80 per person, $60 for siblings and $60 per player if registering a team of five or more. Basketball camp

Greenbrier High School will hold summer basketball camps in two sessions. Session I is open to boys and girls in grades 2-5 and will be held June 1-3 at Stallings Island Middle School from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Cost is $60. Volleyball camp

Football practice for Grovetown High School will start at 4 p.m., April 20, at Grovetown Middle School and continue until May 1.
