Jump Rope for Heart

On Feb. 11, 234 students at Greenbrier Elementary participated in Jump Rope for Heart under the supervision of P.E. teachers ReBecca Vaught and Robin Gaston, raising more than $8,200 for the American Heart Association. The top fundraisers were Lauren Ableman and Logan Parrish.

Greenbrier Elementary School was recognized as the Top Fundraising School in all of Southeast Georgia for the 2007-08 school year. Greenbrier Elementary students have supported the American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart since 1997.

NGU Dean's List

Two area students have been named to North Greenville University Dean's List for the fall 2008 semester. They are: Sarah Elizabeth Powell , of Evans; Michelle Lee Evans , of Grovetown.

Excelsior graduate

John Claud McElhannon , a resident of Evans, has earned a bachelor of science degree from Excelsior College, Albany, N.Y.

Gardner-Webb University honor

Michael A. Heredia , of Grovetown, was named to the Honor Roll List during fall semester at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C.

DePaul Dean's List

Kathleen Searle , of Evans, has been named to the Dean's List for the 2008 Autumn quarter at DePaul University.

Anderson Univ. fall 2008 Dean's List

Alyssa Prater , of Appling, has been named to the Dean's List for fall 2008 at Anderson University in Anderson, S.C.

USC Aiken 2008 President's List

Jason Newman , of Evans, has been named to the President's List at USC Aiken for the fall 2008 semester.
