Tax assistance

The Fort Gordon Tax Center, which provides free tax preparation services for active duty military, retirees and their families, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through April 15. The center is located at the Courtyard on Kilbourne Ave.

Starting in February, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will provide free income tax assistance to low- and middle-income taxpayers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Columbia County Library in Evans, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays at the Euchee Creek Library.
