Harlem is holding its sixth annual City Easter Egg Hunt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Harlem City Park.
About 3,000 eggs will be hidden on the park's three athletic fields. Children will be divided into three groups -- ages 1 to 3, ages 4 to 6, and age 7 and up.
"It is going to be great," organizer Misty Hamb said. "We're going to have so much fun."
Prize eggs will be among the 1,000 hidden on each field, including some that offer big prizes. Hamb said that last year a prize egg awarded its finder a bicycle.
The event is free and will feature face-painting, coloring and snack stations, potato sack races and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
Columbia County is putting on its 15th annual Easter Egg Scramble April 4 at Blanchard Woods Park.
"There will be four soccer fields full of eggs," said Liz Stockstill, county community events specialist.
Stockstill said children ages 1 to 4 are invited to hunt for eggs at 10 a.m., and kids ages 5 and older can search for eggs at 11 a.m.
Between scouring the fields for eggs, Stockstill said, children and their families are invited to enjoy live entertainment, face-painting, inflatable carnival-type rides and refreshments. The festival will continue until about noon.
The Easter Bunny will be on site for photos, Stockstill said.
The cost to join the Easter eggs hunts is $1 per child.
