Citizens should demand term limits, ability to recall Congress

The March 18 letters to the editor in The News-Times reflect the mood of those I have spoken with throughout the country.

One way to get involved is to participate in Glenn Beck's The912Project.com. I have written our Georgia representatives in Congress and have voiced my displeasure with their previous actions. I urge all citizens to write, call, e-mail or all of these actions to their reps and let them know what you want them to do.

At present, recall (of elected officials) only pertains to local and state elected office holders. I have e-mailed our local state representatives to request that they initiate a bill that would change the Georgia state Constitution to allow for the recall of our federal elected officials. This movement is needed across the country so that, eventually, we can get a Constitutional amendment that will allow the people to vote for term limits and to be able to call those in Congress on the carpet and fire them if need be. We are becoming a "Government of the crooks, for the crooks and by the crooks."

The Tea Parties going on around the country show the frustration that many people are feeling. From people in Texas, Colorado, and western Virginia, I have heard the word "revolution" mentioned. What is this country coming to? We need to take back our country!
