The Grovetown High School Athletic Foundation Booster Club will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 12 at the Columbia County Board of Education offices. Officers will be elected and fundraising events organized. For information, contact Todd Booker at tbooker@burke.k12.ga.us.
Grovetown High School will hold a football boosters meeting at the Greenbrier High School gym at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 19. Officers will be elected and fundraising will be discussed.
Spring football practice for Grovetown High will begin at 4 p.m. April 20 through May 1 at Grovetown Middle School. If interested, contact Coach Rodney Holder at rholder@ccboe.net.
Golf tournaments
The Greenbrier Dugout Club will hold a golf tournament Tuesday at Bartram Trail Golf Club. Cost is $50 per person. Sponsors can purchase placements at $150 per hole. River Ridge Elementary School will sponsor a two-person best ball golf tournament at Bartram Trail on March 7 with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $100 for two-person teams, and includes a light lunch. Humana Military Healthcare Services will hold the 13th annual Fisher House Golf Tournament on March 20 at Gordon Lakes Golf Course. Early registration is $65 per player or $260 per team. Day-of registration will cost $75 per player or $300 per team. Participants must register by March 13 to pay the early registration fee. Golfers will sign in at 11 a.m. and lunch will precede a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Entry fee includes a round of golf, cart, lunch, T-shirt and free nine-hole round of golf for future play. Mulligans will be available for purchase.
Softball tourney

Baseball tryout
The Columbia County Chaos boys 10-and-under travel baseball team will be holding tryouts in March. Interested boys should be 10 or younger on May 1. Pitching is a plus. For information, call Trevor Adkins at (706) 284-7379.
Boating course
Thurmond Lake Sail and Power Squadron will offer its Basic Boating Course at the McCormick Public Library located at 201 Railroad Ave., McCormick, S.C. Classes are from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 24, Feb. 27, and March 3 and noon-3 p.m. March 6. Advance registration is required. Cost is $25 per person or $30 per couple.
