Beauty Pageants
The Miss Greenbrier High School pageant was held Jan. 24. The theme was Greenbrier Goes Global, with 28 contestants representing countries from all over the world. The winners were Allie Howard (from left), first runner-up; Morgan Vaughn, Miss Greenbrier High School; Macey Samples, third runner-up; and Suki Sidhu, second runner-up. At right, Lakeside High School freshman Regan Joy Askin, 14, of Martinez, was crowned Junior Teen Miss Augusta during a pageant at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre at Augusta State University on Jan. 10.

Sports Calendar
The Columbia County Area Youth Football Association will hold registration for the upcoming spring youth football season for ages 9-11 and 12-13. Participants must be 13 years old or younger on Sept. 1. Weight restrictions for the 9-11 age group will be 155 pounds (135 pounds for ball carriers), and 190 pounds (160 pounds for ball carriers) for the 12-13 age group.
