Youth football

The Columbia County Area Youth Football Association (CCAYFA) will hold registration for the upcoming spring youth football season for the 9-11 and 12-13 age classifications. Participants must be 13 years old or younger on Sept. 1. Registration will be held Saturday and Feb. 14 at Blanchard Park from 9 a.m.-noon. Softball tourney

Basketball camp

Greenbrier High School basketball player Calvin Coke will hold a basketball skills camp Saturday as part of his senior project. The camp will run from 10 a.m.-noon at the Greenbrier gym and is open to children ages 8-14. For information, call Coke at (706) 651-9331.

Boating course

Thurmond Lake Sail and Power Squadron will offer its Basic Boating Course at the McCormick Public Library located at 201 Railroad Ave., McCormick, S.C. Classes are from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 24, Feb. 27, and March 3 and noon-3 p.m. on March 6. Advance registration is required. Cost is $25 per person or $30 per couple. Coast Guard Auxiliary

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at El Valle Mexican Restaurant in the West Town shopping center in Martinez. For details, call John VanOsdol at (864) 391-2170.

Free-throw contests

The Knights of Columbus Free- Throw Championship will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-noon at Patriots Park gym No. 1. Boys and girls ages 10-14 are eligible and will be assigned to their respective age divisions. Participants are required to show proof of age and must have parental consent. Grovetown football meets

Grovetown High School will hold a football boosters meeting at the Greenbrier High School gym Feb. 19 at 6:30 p.m. Officers will be elected and fundraising will be discussed.

Lifeguard classes

The Augusta chapter of the American Red Cross will hold lifeguard training classes Feb. 9-20, Feb. 23-March 6 and March 23-April 3. For information, call (706) 724-8481.

Baseball umpires sought
