Babypalooza is planned for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the hotel at 2651 Perimeter Parkway in Augusta.

The free event is put on by Xytex Cord Blood Bank, the East Central Georgia Safe Kids Coalition through MCG Health's Children Medical Center, Babies 'R Us and 104.3 WBBQ.

"This is a first annual event for pregnant moms and their guests and the focus is going to be on education, but also entertainment and everything baby," said Danielle Wong Moores, Xytex director of marketing and corporate communications.

The first 100 expectant mothers through the door will receive a gift bag.

Moores said presentations from Safe Kids, Xytex and others throughout the event and will include topics like baby safety issues, how to safely transport a baby, child-proofing a home and cord blood banking.

"Basically, the event is going to feature a number of vendors -- everyone from people who specialize in massage and de-stressing to people who maybe will help decorate your house," Moores said. "We're having a baby sign language instructor there with a booth. We have a pediatric group, even a security system company. So really it kind of covers the range of things you need to consider when you're having a baby."

Door prizes, including baby carriers, the book What To Expect When You're Expecting, toys and diaper cakes, will be awarded throughout the event.
