Tree program
Mrs. Al Nagy, chairman of the Flowering Tree Committee of the Columbia County Beautification Program, has announced that a shipment of Dogwood and Redbud trees had arrived. She also asks to receive orders for Crape Myrtles through Jan. 17, 1968.
Planting flowering trees is a big part of the Beautification Program. Nagy explains that if everyone would plant flowering trees, we would have a beautiful community overnight.
Systems join forces
Superintendent John P. Blanchard has announced that Columbia County will be uniting with McDuffie, Lincoln and Wilkes counties to hire five subject specialists to inspect and improve the quality of education in the four counties.
