Writers will meet

CSRA Writers will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Meeting Room A at the Columbia County Library. Writers needing a support group are invited to attend and bring eight copies of a manuscript to be critiqued. For information, call Steve Fox at (706) 836-7315.

Turf training

Alzheimer's lunch

A free MCG Alzheimer's lunch program with Dr. Suzanne Smith, the director of the Memory Disorder Clinic at MCG, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the MCG Alumni Center at 919 15th St. For reservations, call Kathy Tuckey at (706) 731-9060 by noon Monday.

Infertility group

Signing class

University Hospital's Speech and Hearing Center will hold an eight-week sign language class from 7-8 p.m. Thursdays, with intermediate classes Friday-Feb. 26, and advanced classes April 16-June 4. Cost is $80 and space is limited. For information, call (706) 774-8559.

Garden series

The Columbia County Extension Service Gardening at Lunch series continues at 12:10 p.m. Jan. 14 with a session on trees. Future sessions include roses, Feb. 4; training plants, March 4; gold medal plants, April 1; lawns, May 6; and gardening for kids, June 3.
