Pvt. Amanda Vincent and Pvt. Sarah Vincent are twins, and they are members of Fort Gordon's 369th Signal Battalion.

The 21-year-old Wisconsin sisters had been working for Acco Brands, a binder company, when they decided to join the Army.

"We were bored," said Amanda. "She (Sarah) said, 'Let's join the Navy.' "

In the end, the Army won out, and they signed up together. So far, they've been able to stay together throughout basic training and advanced individual training, which they recently completed.

"It's not been that bad. I didn't like basic training," Sarah said.

They will be stationed at Fort Gordon until they receive their next assignment, which should come in January.

A few months ago, when Sarah received her orders, they thought they'd be split up, but the orders were later changed.

"She (Amanda) cried when they first told us," Sarah said. "We are so used to being around each other."
