Military Milestones

- Air Force Airman Lawrence A. Helms , a 2008 graduate of Hephzibah High School and son of Sue Helms, of Hephzibah, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Air National Guard Airman 1st Class John C. Boyd , a 2007 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and son of John T. and Janice M. Boyd, of Hephzibah, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Navy Seaman James K. Henley , a 2008 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and son of Thomosina Parks and James B. Henley, of Augusta, has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

- Army Pfc. Victor Fernandez , a 2008 graduate of Hephzibah High School and son of Victor Fernandez II, of Hephzibah, has graduated with honors from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Army Pvt. Zachary Williams , a 2005 graduate of Hephzibah High School, has completed basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Army Pvt. Chiquita Q. Johnson , a 2008 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School and daughter of Barbara Johnson, of Augusta, has completed basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.
