Fort tree lighting

Fort Gordon will light its Christmas tree in Freedom Park at 6 p.m. Friday, with refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus.

Christmas music

The Fort Gordon Concert Band and the Augusta State University Wind Ensemble will perform a free Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church on Walton Way.

Santa workshop

Greenbrier Elementary School's Santa's Workshop, featuring vendors, photos with Santa, a bake sale and entertainment, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Call Jackie Collins at (706) 447-3999.

Census workers

The Census Bureau is seeking workers to assist with the 2010 Census and will hold information sessions at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday and 1 and 3 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Evans Government Complex auditorium. Register by calling (866) 861-2010.

Singles dance
