The church will conduct the free hayride and provide free hot chocolate Thursday-Sunday at the Columbia County Fairgrounds on Columbia Road.

"There are 15 biblical scenes and we expect to see a little over 2,500 people to come to the hayride," the Rev. Andy Collins said. "Each of the biblical characters come out and tell their stories."

During the four-night event, people will get to meet representations of biblical characters such as Isaiah, Mary and Joseph, and witness the crucifixion of Christ, said Collins.

"Each year we try to end it (the hayride) with a personal testimony from someone in our church family," Collins said.

"We give people more than just the traditional Christmas story. We give people the biblical Christmas story."

Collins recommends that visitors dress warmly. The ride is expected to last 30 to 45 minutes.

Rides start each night at 7 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m.
