"For no particular reason," Barry Paschal is predicting the Republican Party's future for the next four years? (Column excerpt, "Here comes Palin," Nov. 30.)
How effortless it is to sit in an office and write unfavorable words about Gov. Sarah Palin. The power of the pen may be Paschal's personal strength, but Palin's political accomplishments cannot be denied.
Above and beyond the fact that Palin was elected to local office more than once by the people of Alaska and later won the highest guardian position as governor, she is a manager, an administrator, a regulator, a superintendent and a director who sustains a majority approval rating.
The facts are Sarah Palin was the preferential choice among U.S. governors and U.S. senators to lead the Republican Party as vice president in the 2008 national election.
Is it wrong for Palin to stump for Saxby Chambliss? I agree, she is "declaring her allegiance to party" as she makes a visit to Augusta.
However, let's commit to memory that the Constitution was crafted in order that our blessed country would have two sides of debate, allowing for common reasoning together vs. single party rule.
Yes, Mr. Paschal, if you are indeed wrong in 2012, I will pay you a visit - maybe take you out for some moose burgers.
