Air Force Airman 1st Class Maria A. Kehoe has graduated from the Air Traffic Control Operations Apprentice Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss. Kehoe is scheduled for an assignment to the 319th Operations Support Squadron at Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. She has served in the military for one year. She is the daughter of Kevin W. and Linda A. Kehoe, of Martinez, and is a 2006 graduate from Evans High School.

Air Force Airman Emerald M. Payne has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Nathaniel and Yadira Payne, of Martinez, and is a 2008 graduate of Lakeside High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class James C. Ward has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Ward is the son of Carol Palmer of Harlem, and grandson of Dennis Palmer, of Washington, Ga. He is a 2008 graduate of Harlem High School.

Army Pvt. Sterling Smith has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Smith is the son of Carolyn Barker, of Columbus, and Sterling Smith of Grovetown.

Army Pvt. Jon C. Harris has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Jon Harris, of Evans, and attended Greenbrier High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class James L. Kitchens has graduated from the Communications Signal Intelligence Production Apprentice Course at the Navy Technical Training Center at the Corry Naval Station, Pensacola, Fla. He is the son of Sara D. and Richard L. McHenry, of Grovetown, and received an associate degree in 2006 from Augusta Technical College.

Army Reserve Pfc. Nello A. Thomas IV has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Nello and Ivy Thomas, of Martinez, and is a 2008 graduate of Lakeside High School.
