Thanks to everyone involved in sharing Harlem girl's inspiration

I would like to thank Columbia County News-Times Publisher Barry Paschal, staff writer Stephen Fastenau and photographer Jim Blaylock for the fine Nov. 16 sports story on my daughter, Olivia Fitzgerald.

There are many others I also would like to thank for being an encouragement to Olivia, including all of Olivia's past and present coaches, the faculty of Euchee Creek Elementary and Harlem Middle schools, Olivia's teammates and their parents, and everyone who has cheered her on and kept her in their prayers.

Speaking of prayers, I must give thanks and praise to God most of all for being with Olivia in a very special way. There is not a doubt in my mind that prayers to God in Jesus' name have worked true wonders for Olivia; I've seen it with my own eyes.

It is our hope that other children will be inspired and encouraged by Olivia's achievements.
