Barack Obama campaigned as the candidate for change, and now that he has won I believe he will keep that promise.

Changes will be made to zoning notification plans
The Columbia County Planning Commission agreed Thursday to move forward with an amendment that would require advertising any major changes to properties zoned as special districts, planned unit developments or planned development districts.

Lions season was strong, just not up to their high standards
Last week, I was just 3-2 to put me at 34-7 for the season. Now, I have only one team to follow as the season ended for Greenbrier, Lakeside, Harlem and Augusta Christian last week. Therefore, I guess we will start this week's breakdown with the Evans Knights.

Pigskin Picks
Week 11 of the Pigskin Picks contest saw a total of 109 entries with only one qualifier choosing all 10 games correctly. Another 45 qualifiers got nine correct; 37 qualifiers got eight correct; and 18 qualifiers picked the minimum seven correctly.

Knights pay tribute to members of first team
Evans High School welcomed its first football team to its final game of the regular season, inviting the former players to a pregame meal at the church and introducing them as co-captains before the Knights' game against Richmond Academy.

Loss knocks Lions out of playoff race
William Banks helped Augusta Christian escape many jams this season, but he was finally bottled up Friday night. Wilson Hall kept the Lions' senior out of the end zone, and Augusta Christian fell 26-9 in the first round of the SCISA Class AAA playoffs.
