The Columbia County Merchants Association Fall Fair is open from 5-11 p.m. today and Thursday, 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and noon to midnight Saturday at the fairgrounds on Columbia Road. For information, call (706) 210-3603, or go to www.columbiacountyfair.net.
Art After Dark
The Columbia County Artist Guild's annual Art After Dark program, showcasing the county's visual and performing artists, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia County Library. Adopt-a-Stream

Care assistance
United We Care, at 101 Newmantown Road, in Grovetown, will accept applications from needy families for assistance with Thanksgiving and Christmas from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Thursday. Applicants should bring proof of income and residence in the Grovetown area and a telephone number.
Craft show
Marvin United Methodist Church will hold a craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the gym. Vendor spaces are still available. For information, call (706) 309-9522.
Evans Band sale
The Evans High School Band will hold a yard sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the front parking lot of the school.
Bands to battle
The Lakeside High School Battle of the Bands will be held from 7-10 p.m. Saturday in the school commons area. Tickets cost $5 and are available at the door.
