I extend an invitation to the interested public to visit our Columbia County streams during the month of November.

Our certified volunteers will be assessing our streams both chemically and biologically. Visitors, both young and old, have always helped the regular volunteers to collect and sort the little wrigglers. These have different sensitivities to pollution.

Most of the stream visits are undertaken on Saturday mornings. Persons who contact me will be directed to accompany particular teams.

Send me an e-mail at jopagr@comcast.net or call (706) 868-0296.

I will also be available at Reed Creek Park Interpretive Center (at the end of Park Lane, off of Fury's Ferry Road near Reed Creek) at 9 a.m., when I also make a workshop available for those interested in certification.
