Halloween event
Columbia County Community events is seeking area businesses to join in the "Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat" Halloween event, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Patriots Park. There is no charge to participate. For information, call (706) 312-7192.
VFW party
The Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Post 6445 in Harlem, at 6423 Wrightsboro Road, will hold an adult Halloween party at 6 p.m. Friday, with a prize for best costume. Tickets cost $3 per person, $5 for couples. All proceeds help area veterans. For information, call (706) 556-9194.
Trunk or Treat

Hallelujah Night

Pet rescue events
Happy Tails Rescue will hold a Treasures and Trinkets sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Nov. 8 in the parking lot of Superpetz on Bobby Jones Expressway in Martinez, along with a "doggie diner" with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, and homemade dog treats.
