Martinez spa worker arrested on sex charge

An employee of a Martinez spa was arrested Tuesday evening after she offered sexual favors to an undercover investigator, police said.
Authorities charged Dan Sim Kim, 47, with masturbation for hire. Kim was released Wednesday from the Columbia County Detention Center on a $1,600 bond, according to an e-mail from Columbia County sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris.
The incident took place at King's Health Spa, 337 S. Belair Road.
Pastor facing federal indictment resigns
An embattled pastor who is facing a multi-count federal indictment on tax-evasion charges in Maryland, has tenured his letter of resignation at First Baptist Church of Warrenton.
The Rev. Otis Ray Hope, who began serving as pastor earlier this year, submitted the letter of resignation to church officials Tuesday.
Attempts to contact Hope for comment at his home in Columbia County were unsuccessful.

Political signs are stolen
Political signs endorsing Sen. Barack Obama for president were stolen Tuesday from Martinez homes.
One sign was stolen from a home on Amelia Drive, and the other was taken from a residence on Brookgreen Road.
Both homeowners said they intend to prosecute if the sign thieves are found.
Car, motorcycle stolen
There were two incidents of vehicle theft last week in Martinez.
A 2001 Chevrolet Impala was stolen from a Pleasant Drive resident Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. The owner said the car was locked and parked on the street in front of her home.
A damaged Yamaha motorcycle was stolen Tuesday or Wednesday from an apartment on Old Petersburg Road. The owner said the motorcycle was nearly inoperable and a thief would have needed a trailer to take it.
