Excelsior College graduates

The following local students have graduated from Excelsior College: Matthew Post , of Martinez, has earned a bachelor of science; Leon Haymon , of Evans, has earned a bachelor of science; Daniel Tilsner , of Evans, has earned a bachelor of science.
KFC Colonel's Scholar
Jennifer Grant, of Martinez, was one of 100 students named to the third annual class of KFC Colonel's Scholars. Grant was chosen out of nearly 70,000 applicants and awarded the scholarship based on her performance in the classroom and contributions to her community. Grant is using her scholarship beginning this fall while attending her first year at the University of Georgia. She is eligible to receive up to $20,000 over four years to complete a bachelor's degree.
Johns Hopkins Dean's List
John Barrett , of Martinez, was named to the Dean's list for the spring 2008 semester of Johns Hopkins University. To be selected for this honor, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Barrett is the son of John Barrett and Pat Schoenlein and attended Lakeside High School.
Barrett, who is majoring in neuroscience, will graduate in May 2009.
