Haunted trail

Lakeside High School's JROTC will hold a "haunted trail" fundraiser at the school from 7:30-10:30 p.m. today and Thursday and 7:30 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Cost is $2, with 5-and-under free. Hayrides cost $1.

Early voting

Early voting for the Nov. 4 general election is available at the Columbia County Board of Elections Office, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, at 500 Faircloth Drive, in Evans. For information, call (706) 868-3355.

Fair competition

Thursday is the deadline for 4-H youth exhibits for the Columbia County Merchants Association Fair. Entry information is available at www.ugaextension.com/columbia, or by calling (706) 868-3413.

Bands to battle

Bands are being sought to compete in the Lakeside High School Battle of the Bands, set for 7-10 p.m. Nov. 8 in the school commons area. Entry fee costs $25, and one member of each band must attend a Columbia County high school. Tickets for spectators cost $5 and are available at the door. Church seminar

The Triple Threat Singles Ministry of Macedonia Baptist Church, 1828 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, will hold a relationship seminar for single, divorced or widowed people at 7 p.m. Friday in the fellowship hall. For information, call (706) 737-6834.

Fair pageant

Monday is the deadline for entries in the Columbia County Merchants Association 2008 Miss Columbia County Fair Scholarship Pageant, to be held Oct. 25. Contestants ages 17-24 are being sought. The contest is open to single women with judging in interview, swimsuit and evening gown. Applications are available at all Columbia County high schools.
