Three Greenbrier High School drama students will parody Shakespeare's plays in a production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) 8 p.m. Saturday at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center.

"It's one of the funniest shows you will ever see," said Steve Hansen, Greenbrier's drama director.

First performed in 1987, the play features all of Shakespeare's dramatic works in shortened form, including Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet .

Senior Drew Bearden, who is both a performer and director for the show, said the three actors call each other by their own names throughout the play.

The performers speak directly to the audience and even involve them in the show. At one point, the audience chants some of the lines, Hansen said.

Bearden saw the show two years ago and told Hansen he wanted to direct it at Greenbrier. He and his classmates recently performed the play at the school.

Tickets cost $5 for students and $8 for adults. For reservations, call Hansen at (706) 799-5849.
