The fireman's muster, a competition that tests the skill and endurance of firefighters, is just one of many events that will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at the 10th Annual FireFest.

The event, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Columbia County and the Columbia County Fire Chiefs Association, will be held at Evans Town Center Park across from the Columbia County Justice Center. All proceeds from the festival benefit the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation.
Admission is free. However, some activities will require tokens, which will be available for purchase.
"We did something new this year," said event organizer Jim Waldron. "We hired someone to bring in live music all day, and we have 23 different craftsmen coming."
The fireman's muster is expected to draw teams of firefighters from throughout the area to compete.
Also included for the event are carnival games, pony rides, face-painting and the Augusta GreenJackets will bring an inflatable pitching machine.
Safety demonstrations also will be set up. ID-A-Child, sponsored by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, will be available for finger printing and identification cards, while Safe Kids will teach children the importance of seat belts.
"It's going to be a beautiful, sunny day," Waldron said.
