Teen Republican organization meets
A crowd of 30 young people met last Saturday night at A.S. "Foots" Quinn's home in Evans and formed a Columbia County Teen Age Republican Club. Annette Reed was elected chairman and Suzanne Duffie vice-chairman. Judy Simmons was elected secretary. All pledged to work for and elect all Republican candidates.
Everyone enjoyed an evening of swimming, hamburgers, hot dogs and Cokes.
Speaking to the young people were Quinn, chairman of the 10th District Republican organization; Hugh Pratt, chairman of the Columbia County Republican Party, along with three local County Commission candidates.
"The Republican Party is for the young people and what we do for them today will affect them in the future," said Perry Dozier, candidate for the Appling seat on the County Commission. "The Democratic Party is stagnant and does not welcome new ideas."
