Vote registration

Monday is the deadline for voters to register in time for the November general election. Voter registration drives will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oliver Hardy Festival in Harlem, and 1 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Worship Center, 715 Old Belair Road, Grovetown. Early voting is available at the Columbia County Board of Elections Office, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, at 500 Faircloth Drive, in Evans. Call (706) 868-3355.

Breast health

MCGHealth's Breast Health Lunch and Learn Fridays will be held from noon to 1 p.m. each Friday in October, except Oct. 10, in the Terrace Dining Room at MCG. Sessions begin Friday with three women sharing their experience with breast cancer. Space is limited. For reservations, call (706) 721-4109.

Purse drive

The Allstate Foundation is joining with Dress for Success to collect purses to donate to battered-women's shelters. Purses will be accepted at Tom Sorrells' Allstate office at 420 Furys Ferry Road in Martinez until Friday.

Debate watch

Columbia County's Republican Party will hold "debate watch" parties starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, and Tuesday and Oct. 15 at the party headquarters, 4150 Washington Road, in Evans, across from Club Car. For information, call (706) 955-2012.

St. Teresa events

St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, on Columbia Road, is holding a series of events to mark the parish's 40th anniversary. A talent show and roast of the pastor will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and a fall carnival will be from 2-9 p.m. Oct. 11. Call the church at (706) 863-4965.

School carnival

Gospel festival
