Pediatric physical therapy is not normally associated with yard sales, but on Saturday, Pediatric Services of America will hold a sale to raise money for the children of its Grovetown center.

This is the third year that it has held the yard sale.

"We have collected stuff for the past year," said Carol Collica, a physical therapist.

The yard sale will be held at the Marvin United Methodist Church gym from 8 a.m. until noon.

"Many of the children at the center are from underprivileged homes, so 100 percent of the funds raised go directly to the children," Collica said.

The day treatment facility for special-needs children works with 26 kids ranging from 5 months to 5 years old. The children receive physical, occupational and speech therapy and nursing care.

The facility needs equipment, clothing and art supplies, Collica said.

"We really need some playground equipment, but usually we've spent the money on therapy tools or things for the classroom," Collica said.

It is accepting donations money and items to sell at the yard sale.

To donate, call Collica at (706) 868-6543 Monday through Friday.
